About the role: As a Concrete Batch Plant Team, you will play a pivotal role in the concrete production process by overseeing and managing the operation of batching equipment. Your precision and attention to detail will contribute to the delivery of high-quality concrete mixes, ensuring they meet project specifications. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong understanding of concrete production, equipment operation, and a commitment to maintaining consistent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor concrete batching equipment to ensure accurate proportioning and mixing per project specifications.
  • Use computerized systems to maintain precision and consistency in mix designs.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on raw materials to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Adjust batching processes as necessary to uphold concrete quality.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on batching equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with production and delivery teams to schedule batches according to project timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to address custom mix requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, batch adjustments, and production reports.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members (verbal, written, and listening).

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of concrete production processes, mix designs, and material properties.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot batching equipment effectively.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with computerized batching systems is a plus.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience preferred.
  • Physical/Shift Requirements: Ability to work 12-hour shifts (day/night) in harsh weather conditions.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license.

Required Competencies:

  • Safety-first mindset with adherence to PPE, lockout/tagout, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and situational awareness.
  • Effective communication, team collaboration, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

 

$500-$700 per day, based on a 12 hour day, depending on experience, certifications and skill set.

This job will be required to fly in and out of the project job site from either Edmonton Alberta, or Yellowknife, NWT.

There is a travel allowance payable based on the successful candidates point of hire.

3 weeks in, 3 weeks out rotation.
