The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals receiving end-of-life services in an inpatient hospice setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Hospice Aide assists with personal care, comfort measures, and supportive services to ensure dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients.

🕒 Position Details

  • Location: Wyndmoor, PA
  • Role: Inpatient hospice unit (CNA or HHA)

🧡 What You’ll Do

  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with:
    • Bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
    • Toileting and incontinence care
    • Oral care, skin care, and repositioning
  • Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility
  • Support patient comfort through non-medical interventions (e.g., positioning, linen changes, environmental adjustments)
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment
  • Assist with meal setup and feeding, as appropriate
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families with compassion and respect
  • Follow infection control, safety, and hospice care protocols
  • Document care provided according to facility guidelines
  • Previous experience as a caregiver or in a healthcare-related role is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards client care.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive end-of-life situations
  • Strong observation and reporting skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and transferring patients
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Proof of Influenza Vaccination or an approved Medical or Religious exemption.
  • Employees designated in a driver status, traveling from site to site, will be required to maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance at all times.
