About You

The successful candidate will be able to bring both technical skill and creative spark to our team. You will possess solid technical knowledge and previous experience in a senior engineering/maintenance role, ideally within the hospitality or hotel industry. You are confident in managing a team and establishing high standards for safety, quality, and service. Troubleshooting skills are your specialty with the ability to think on your feet. You are organised, always prepared with a plan B and can remain calm under pressure. You have a thorough understanding of building systems and maintenance tools, recognising the importance of documentation and compliance. Overall, you are committed to ensuring Monarto Safari Resort & Safari Lodge runs smoothly, so every guest enjoys a remarkable experience.

About The Role

As Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager at Monarto Safari Resort & Safari Lodge, you will play a pivotal role in creating an extraordinary guest experience. Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
• Lead, schedule, and support the engineering team, ensuring effective coverage and upholding high standards of work.
• Manage and implement preventative maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and public areas to ensure a seamless operation.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance requests or emergencies, minimising disruption to our guests and operations.
• Collaborate with department heads to support the resort’s operational needs and ensure seamless service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as legal and brand requirements.
