Role description

We are looking for an expert (m/f/d) in grid connection planning for renewable energy who will take on and optimize the grid connection planning for our ground-mounted photovoltaic, wind energy and energy storage projects. We are looking for someone to liaise with grid operators and thus further advance the implementation of our renewable energy projects. The workplace is in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • All activities related to grid connection planning for renewable energy projects in the medium and high voltage range
  • Ensuring grid connections for new projects and interfaces with grid operators
  • Discussions on an equal footing regarding grid connection applications, grid connection points, standards and certifications
  • Optimization of grid connection and cable routes from the project to the NVP, including economic and technical feasibility and evaluation
  • Preparation of concept studies, yield simulations, draft plans for approval procedures and implementation plans (focus on the grid, but also on the projects themselves), cost estimates for components and substations
  • One focus is on the evaluation of plans and solutions from third parties (development partners or in the context of acquisitions)
  • Building and expanding expertise on relevant system components
  • Intensive exchange with relevant grid operators and associated organizations
  • Monitoring and operationalization of technical and relevant regulatory developments and standards
  • Ensuring optimal cooperation within the development team, a network of external development partners

Skills and experience

  • Demonstratable professional experience in grid connection planning, ideally at all voltage levels
  • You are fluent in German and, ideally, English
  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the German electricity market and the local energy sector
  • You are proficient in the following tools: MS Office, AutoCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, E-Plan
  • You have a sound understanding of current grid connection guidelines (VDE-AR-N-4110/4120/4130)
