We are seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Finance Analyst to join our team in Dunedin. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial integrity of our organisation, working across accounts payable, provider payments, banking, and finance system processes to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of services.
Position Purpose:
This pivotal role within the WellSouth Finance team has sole responsibility for the accurate and timely end-to-end processing of accounts payable, banking, and finance system administration. The Finance and Accounts Payable Specialist ensures that creditors are paid on schedule, financial controls are upheld, and that the integrity of the bank reconciliation and finance system is maintained at all times.
Acting as the primary point of contact for accounts payable queries and financial processing, this role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
This role also contributes to expenditure reporting and supports the Finance team with process improvement and system administration, including the management of user access and the ongoing maintenance of financial processes and documentation.
What are we looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable specialist who can take ownership of end-to-end payables processes, including accuracy and timeliness of payments, reporting and reconciliations
You will be comfortable working across multiple systems and stakeholders, supporting both internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate financial outcomes and effective contract management. Experience in financial systems, process improvement, and reporting tools will be highly regarded.
About you - To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 7-8 years experience in accounts payable or a broader finance administration role, ideally either leading an AP function or operating at a level of equivalent responsibility.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex financial reconciliations and reporting.
- Have solid financial systems experience (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Be confident working across accounts payable, reconciliations and reporting.
- Show a proactive approach to continuous improvement and process development.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Be self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Bring a problem‑solving mindset and the ability to think critically and analytically.
