Our Maintenance team plays a vital role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently. From rebuilding and repairing to performing routine maintenance, our mechanics are essential to the success of our business.

We are looking for a Red Seal Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic with knowledge of Hydraulic Systems to join our growing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will: 
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance of Company fleet equipment including working with hydraulics, airbrakes, transmissions, and heavy-duty diesel engines on fleet vehicles.
• Ensure internal maintenance documentation is fully and accurately completed · Utilizing diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions. 
• Perform routine inspections and replace worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity. 
• Perform all work in accordance with safe work practices and procedures, participate in safety inspections, audits and hazard analysis, follow and comply with all safety policies and regulations 
• Install new equipment and overhaul or modify current equipment as required.
• Assist Maintenance Manager in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities (parts used, repairs made, and hours worked). · Providing detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions. · Complete daily Technician reports
  
• Service calls: traveling to a worksite to diagnose, repair, or maintain large equipment, focusing on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment, ensuring safety, and then testing the repair to restore full function, often involving complex troubleshooting and ordering specific parts
• Other related tasks as assigned by Maintenance Manager

Schedule

4 x 10-hour shift, Wednesday to Saturday 

Job Requirements and Qualifications 

• Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic Certification 
• Experience on Forklifts; preference given to LPG and Diesel units
• 3 to 4 years experience as an apprentice 
• Familiar with hydraulic systems, electronic controls 
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read technical diagrams and instruction 
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner 
• The ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems. · Cummins certified 
• CVI Certification 
• Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds 
• Work well with others in a team environment 
• Valid Class 5 License and clean drivers abstract
• Welding C certificate considered an asset.
