Job Description: The Day One Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for overseeing food services and sanitation of the detox unit.

 

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all clients are receiving three nutritional meals and two snacks daily
  • Ensure all client food is properly handled, stored, and disposed of
  • Maintains a supply of in-house fresh fruits and vegetables for daily snacks
  • Orders, picks up, and delivers meals and prepares for this duty to be managed during
    non-workdays
  • Maintains adequate clean linen and cleaning supplies for the sanitation of the detox unit
  • Wash, fold and store linens in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Follow Policy & Procedures related to health and safety standards for True North
    Recovery, Inc.
  • Notify, in writing, any significant events to the Operations Director at the end of every
    shift, pointing out problems noted, unhealthy client interaction, or safety problem
  • Make reports of significant events to appropriate off duty staff when necessary, such as
    clients leaving the building, being in an undesignated space, medical emergency, or any
    other event as directed by the Critical Incident Report guidelines
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Maintain proper handling and storage requirements for chemicals within Day One

 


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Food handler's card
  • Strong understanding of de-escalations skills
  • Two years’ experience working with individuals in a substance-use related field
  • If in recovery must be in remission for ONE (1) year and working a program of
    recovery
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal
    background check
  • Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under True North vehicle
    insurance
  • Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures.  When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment; reference job site specifics.  The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
