We are seeking a YouTube-focused video editor who knows how to transform raw footage into captivating, binge-worthy videos.
This role goes beyond basic editing — you must have a mindset centered on storytelling, pacing, and maintaining audience engagement.
🎥 Responsibilities
- Edit long-form YouTube videos (8–20 minutes) with a strong focus on storytelling
- Organize videos to ensure:
- Compelling hooks within the first 10–20 seconds
- Seamless flow and pacing
- High viewer retention
- Incorporate:
- Motion graphics, zoom effects, cuts, and memes where appropriate
- B-roll footage, sound effects, and music to enhance engagement
- Collaborate with creators and founders to transform ideas into captivating narratives
- Optionally, repurpose long-form content into short-form videos (preferred)
- Regularly refine edits based on audience retention and overall performance
🧠 Qualifications
- 1 to 4 years of experience in YouTube video editing
- Deep understanding of:
- YouTube storytelling formats
- Viewer retention, pacing, and audience psychology
- Proficient in:
- Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro
- Experience collaborating with:
- YouTubers, creators, and content teams
⚡ Essential Skills
- Ability to:
- Create engaging, hook-driven intros
- Maintain viewer interest throughout the video
- Strong aptitude for:
- Timing, cutting, and visual storytelling
- Capability to elevate average footage into high-quality content
