Job Summary

The Field Service Technician (AV / Workplace Technology) is responsible for the onsite installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of audio-visual and workplace technology solutions at client locations. This role is highly hands-on and client-facing, ensuring reliable operation of meeting room, collaboration, and integrated AV systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission audio-visual and workplace technology systems, including displays, projectors, conferencing equipment, control systems, and peripherals
  • Perform onsite troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of AV and IT-related issues
  • Support meeting room and collaboration technologies (e.g. video conferencing, wireless presentation, room scheduling systems)
  • Read and follow system schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Perform equipment mounting, cable termination, labelling, and rack installation
  • Test systems to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications
  • Provide basic user training and technical guidance to clients when required
  • Document service activities, configurations, and resolutions accurately
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and remote support teams
  • Maintain a professional presence while working onsite at client locations
  • Adhere to safety standards, company procedures, and quality guidelines
  • 2+ years of experience with AV systems, workplace technology, or field-based IT support
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with AV signal flow, basic networking concepts, and device configuration
  • Ability to work independently onsite and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable working in client environments with a customer-service mindset
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco, Poly, Crestron, Extron)
  • Basic knowledge of networking (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE)
