Overview
Paladin Security is seeking a professional and customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at One Queen Street East, a premier 503,000-square-foot office property located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the iconic Yonge and Queen intersection.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with the public, maintaining a safe environment, and providing exceptional customer service. As a Security Guard, you will conduct proactive patrols, respond to incidents and emergencies, enforce property policies, and serve as a visible and approachable presence for tenants, guests, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors
- Conduct highly visible foot patrols throughout assigned areas of the property
- Monitor and enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and emergency preparedness activities
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and investigate security concerns
- Control vehicle traffic on the property when required
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance until emergency responders arrive
- Deal with trespassers and unauthorized individuals in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act
- Maintain detailed memo books and complete accurate incident and occurrence reports
- Assist emergency services and law enforcement personnel as required
- De-escalate conflicts and crisis situations professionally
- Support property management and security operations through effective communication and teamwork
- Perform additional duties as assigned by site management
Must Have
- Minimum 1 year of prior security experience
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
- Comfortable interacting with tenants, guests, visitors, and members of the public
Nice to Have
- Experience in physical security or commercial property security
- Experience in shopping mall or retail security environments
- Experience working in busy downtown or high-volume public spaces
- Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
