About this role

Assistant Director of Nursing, Vocational Nursing Program:

Stanbridge University is seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Director of Nursing for the Vocational Nursing (VN) Program. This role partners closely with the Director of Nursing to support program operations, faculty performance, curriculum implementation, and student outcomes. The Assistant Director plays a key role in maintaining academic quality, regulatory compliance, and a strong student learning environment at the assigned campus. This role contributes directly to faculty effectiveness and student success outcomes, while collaborating with centralized administration and peer campuses as needed.

Essential Functions:

Program Leadership & Operations:

  • Support and coordinate daily operations of the VN program, including student advisement and clinical education oversight
  • Partner with the Director to ensure alignment with program goals, institutional priorities, and accreditation standards
  • Contribute to continuous program evaluation and improvement initiatives

Faculty Leadership & Development:

  • Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, development, and evaluation in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty to ensure effective instruction and student engagement
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and instructional excellence

Curriculum & Academic Quality:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum in alignment with BVNPT and institutional standards
  • Support shared governance processes related to curriculum updates and improvements
  • Ensure consistency and quality across course delivery and clinical instruction

Student Success & Outcomes:

  • Monitor student performance and progression
  • Support implementation of strategies to improve retention, completion, and licensure outcomes
  • Promote effective use of ATI resources across the curriculum to support NCLEX readiness and continuous improvement

Compliance & Accreditation:

  • Ensure program adherence to institutional policies and accreditation requirements
  • Support preparation of reports, documentation, and communications with accrediting agencies
  • Monitor program materials and publications for compliance and accuracy

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with coursework in nursing, education, or administration
  • Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (BRN)

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a nursing education program or related discipline
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as full-time faculty in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching in an online or hybrid learning environment
  • Minimum of four (4) years of continuous full-time experience (or equivalent) as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care within the past five (5) years

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage competing responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing 10–25 pounds as needed
