The hours for the role at 10:30-7pm AEST, or 8:30-5 AWST.

What you'll do:

  • Provide level 3 support for all Managed Services customers, primarily working with servers and their services. 
  • Troubleshoot systems and infrastructure for our managed services clients. 
  • Proactively raise and troubleshoot problems within a customer’s infrastructure environment. 
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand their business requirements, translating them to technical outcomes to resolve their problems. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure a successful outcome for the customer. 
  • Stay current with new technologies and industry trends in the managed services space. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems and infrastructure. 
  • Participation in the (paid) on-call roster and occasional (paid) overtime work. 
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth. 

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience as Systems Engineer working with servers and hypervisors. Any Microsoft SQL administration experience is advantageous. 
  • Effective communication skills when troubleshooting technical issues. You will be able to remain calm and articulate, providing clear explanations of the problem and preventative measures. 
  • A keen interest in technology and a strong desire to ensure that all technology is functioning optimally. You will be willing to learn new technology solutions and concepts to confidently liaise with staff and external vendors. 
  • A positive attitude and can-do mindset, fostered by your proven track record of helping others resolve technical issues. 
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with change. 
  • A personality where everyone knows that when you take on a task whether it’s huge and scary or tiny and boring, you’re going to see it through to the best of your ability. 
  • Knowledge or certificates in Linux SUSE or similar is highly regarded. 
  • A strong knowledge of ticketing systems would be advantageous. 
  • Microsoft and other industry certifications. 
  • Some of the best Google-fu in town.
