About this role

The University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (UP-KYCOM) is seeking individuals interested in applying for the Standardized Patient and Human Model program on campus.

A standardized patient is a person willing and trained to portray an actual patient with a specific medical history and physical exam findings for the purpose of instructing health professional students. A human model is a person willing to serve as an actual patient for physical examination training by health professional students. You are not required to do both; you may choose.

Interested candidates for the Standardized Patient and Human Model Program should have flexible schedules, an ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and an interest in medicine and medical education. Standardized patients and human models are hired by KYCOM as contracted and will be paid an hourly wage for training and providing requested services. Interested individuals must be age 18 or older to apply.

The University of Pikeville is committed to providing safe and productive learning, living and working community. To achieve this goal, we conduct background investigations for all final applicants being considered for employment. Background investigations include a criminal history record check, and when appropriate, a financial and/or motor vehicle history.
