One of our clients, a leader in the aerospace sector, is looking for an experienced Technical Writer.

The technical writer will be responsible for writing a comprehensive and precise manual providing detailed instructions for the repair and maintenance of the structural components of an aircraft. They will also be required to write similar technical manuals for all Bell aircraft models.

Summary of job description,

  • Researching and understanding the structural components and systems of the Bell 525 aircraft.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather technical information and specifications.
  • Writing clear, concise, and accurate procedural instructions for the repair and maintenance of all aircraft systems and structural components.
  • Organizing and presenting information in a logical and user-friendly manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Reviewing and revising manuals based on feedback and updates.
  • Hold a college diploma in a relevant field, or a university degree.
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance and a good knowledge of aeronautical systems, their interfaces and their operation is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in technical writing tools and software such as FrameMaker and Arbortext, or any other technical software.
  • Basic understanding of S1000D, XML, IETM, and content management systems is required.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documentation such as engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, is required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Functional knowledge in French is required
  • Excellent communication skills in English is required for this position, as it involves communication in English with Bell teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers, partners, and clients outside of Quebec.
