US HR Specialist (MH)
About this role
FIULLY REMOTE POSITION
Your Responsibilities
As an HR Specialist, you will handle the day-to-day practicalities of the employee
lifecycle, ensuring our systems are accurate and our team members feel supported from
day one.
People Operations & Systems
โ Prepare and distribute HR documents for both employees and contractors (offer
letters, employment verifications, policy acknowledgements, etc.)
โ Support employee status changes, including promotions, transfers,
compensation updates, and terminations.
โ Provide administrative support across People Operations initiatives
Employee Experience
โ Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR programs.
โ Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, and
company events.
โ Help drive positive employee experiences throughout the employee lifecycle.
Hiring & Recruiting
โ Coordinate interviews and candidate scheduling when needed
โ Manage job postings across hiring platforms
โ Support candidate communication and interview logistics
โ Help maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Compliance & Documentation
โ Assist with audits and reporting requests
โ Manage employee data and maintain accurate records in HRIS and personnel
files.
โ Help update internal HR policies and procedures
โ Support payroll processes by providing accurate employee data and change
reporting.
Onboarding & Offboarding
โ Facilitate a high-touch onboarding experience by coordinating welcome sessions
and ensuring new hires have access to essential tools and platforms.
โ Serve as a point of contact for new employees, helping them navigate their first
90 days at Meru.
โ Assist with the full-cycle offboarding process, including preparing final
documentation.
โ Support the coordination of exit interviews and ensure a respectful transition for
departing team members.
What You Will Need to Succeed
โ Experience: 2-3+ years of US HR specialist experience, preferably within a
startup environment.
โ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus
on empathy and clarity.
โ Technical Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn new tools and a solution-oriented
approach to technology.

Qualifications
Duties:
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with health care laws, regulations, and policies
- Tracking and following trends of reported compliance issues and inquiries or complaints
- Analyze relevant data to find opportunities to improve the compliance program and culture of compliance
- Provide support in coordinating third party oversight related to compliance requirements
- Researching, interpreting, and implementing federal, state, and local regulatory mandates
- Assist in communication and education initiatives delivered by Compliance
- Produce and distribute department and organizational reports related to compliance
- Assist in regular Compliance Program risk assessments
- Willing to work US Hours from Mondays to Fridays.
