About this role

Funding Societies | Modalku is the largest SME digital finance platform in Southeast Asia. We are licensed and operatingΒ  in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, and backed by Sequoia India (Peak XV), Softbank Vision Fund, Khazanah and SMBC bank amongst many others. Funding Societies | Modalku provides business financing to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which is funded by individual and institutional investors, as well as payments solutions to SMEs and consumers.

Here at Funding Societies | Modalku we live by our core values GETFS:

  • Grow Relentlessly: Strive to become our best, most authentic selves.
  • Enable Teamwork, Disable Politics: Only by forging togetherness, we help each other succeed.
  • Test Measure Act: Stay curious and reinvent ourselves, through innovation and experimentation.
  • Focus on Impact: Create impact through bias for action and tangible results.
  • Serve with Obsession: Build win-win relationships for the long-term by having a customer obsession.

As an Intern, Acquisition (Digital Financing), you will work directly with the Digital Financing, Acquisition Manager to plan and execute marketing campaigns with strategic partners that drive SME acquisition. You'll be the one making sure campaigns go from brief to launch β€” coordinating across partners, internal teams, and channels to hit lead targets.

What will you do:

  • Plan and execute co-marketing campaigns with strategic partners β€” from scoping and asset creation to launch and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate with the Marcomm team and business units to ensure campaigns are aligned with acquisition goals, not just brand awareness.
  • Track and analyse campaign performance metrics β€” conversion rates, cost per lead, partner channel effectiveness β€” and surface what's working and what isn't.
  • Run small-scale tests on campaign elements (creatives, messaging, CTAs) to improve conversion rates over time.
  • Maintain a clear record of campaign timelines, partner deliverables, and results so the team builds institutional knowledge.
  • Get hands-on exposure to AI tools used in campaign creation, content generation, and workflow automation.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks as they come up. Startups move fast; flexibility matters.

What are we looking for:

  • Undergraduate or final-year student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong project coordination instincts β€” you can manage timelines, chase deliverables, and keep multiple campaigns on track without dropping balls.
  • Comfortable reading dashboards and interpreting campaign data to inform next steps.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • Basic graphic design or content creation skills β€” enough to prepare campaign assets and partner collateral.
  • Curious about AI tools and eager to apply them in real workflows rather than just read about them.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and cares more about outcomes than hours logged.
  • Good at working across teams and external partners β€” you'll be the connective tissue between Marcomm, business units, and partner organisations.

This internship comes with a monthly allowance of RM1,000.

  • Flexible working - We believe in giving back the control of work & life to our people. We trust our people and love to provide the space to accommodate each and everyone's working style and personal life.
  • Mental health and wellness - We understand that our team productivity is directly linked to our mental and physical health. Hence we organize org-wide fitness initiatives and engage partners to provide well-being coaching.
  • Tech support - We provide a company laptop for our employees and the best possible support for the right equipment/tools to enable high productivity.
