Build, test and bring machines to life — in the UK and across the world
We’re looking for an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist engineering business, working on bespoke machinery from build through to customer handover. This is a predominantly factory-based role (approx. 75%), with regular opportunities to travel and commission machines on-site.
Salary range - ÂŁ55,000 to ÂŁ65,000 per annum DOE
Factory-Based Responsibilities (Approx. 75%)Â
- Prepare and carry out QA checks on sub-assemblies, machines, and production linesÂ
- Test and validate machinery against quality and customer specifications
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customersÂ
- Decommission machines ready for shippingÂ
- Support customer queries and after-sales issuesÂ
- Deliver machine demonstrations and trialsÂ
Site ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Install and commission machinery at customer sitesÂ
- Set up, align, and integrate machinesÂ
- Perform SAT, on-site fault finding and troubleshootingÂ
- Train customers on machine operationÂ
- Ensure compliance with safety standardsÂ
Travel RequirementsÂ
Typically one trip per month of either;Â
- 1–2 days (UK/Europe)Â
- 1 week (Europe or further afield)Â
- 2–3 weeks (long haul)Â
- Occasional longer trips (up to 5–6 weeks). All travel and expenses covered.
Essential
- Mechanical assembly / machine build experience
- ONC/HNC or degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Experience in testing, commissioning and fault finding
- Comfortable working with customers

- Salary range ÂŁ35,000 to ÂŁ43,000 dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed from the outset
- 37.5 hour working week, Friday finish at 1.30pm for production teams
