About this role

Our Major Projects group is currently looking to add an Asset Coordinator to our growing team, based in Headingley (Winnipeg), MB.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, we are seeking an organized and detail-oriented asset coordination professional with experience in fleet or equipment management to oversee equipment data integrity, compliance, and asset coordination on active major projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records across all fleet management systems for equipment deployed on the project
  • Ensure all project equipment is inspected on schedule in accordance with regulatory, CSA, and Valard standards; follow up to close any outstanding inspection gaps
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the fleet team and project management, coordinating equipment requests and escalating concerns in a timely manner
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of equipment to and from project sites, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate at each stage
  • Coordinate the receiving and returning of third-party rental equipment on site and monitor rental invoicing for discrepancies against agreements
  • Track and compile fleet-related costs for project management review; proactively flag cost overruns, excessive repair expenditures, or damage trends to the PM team
  • Monitor fleet utilization and produce regular reporting for project leadership on equipment status, availability, and compliance
  • Coordinate with the Mechanic Manager to support preventive maintenance scheduling and ensure maintenance records are accurately captured in the fleet management system
  • Identify and escalate compliance gaps, safety concerns, or data integrity issues related to project assets
  • 3 years of experience in fleet, equipment, or asset coordination within a construction or utility industry environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computer skills generally
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of a project organization — from field crews to project leadership

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with heavy construction equipment, utility and powerline construction assets, and associated regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
