About this role
Job Purpose:
The Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with Saudi Arabian fiscal regulations. This includes accurate preparation and timely filing of VAT, Zakat, and Withholding Tax (WHT) returns via ZATCA portals. The role involves maintaining precise financial records, managing shareholder accounts, and acting as a primary point of contact for tax audits and external reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
- Tax & Zakat Compliance: Prepare and file monthly/quarterly VAT returns, Zakat declarations, and Withholding Tax (WHT) submissions in strict accordance with ZATCA regulations.
- Audit & Inquiry Management: Assist in responding to ZATCA inquiries, managing tax audits, and providing necessary documentation to government authorities and external auditors
- Financial Reporting & Reconciliations: Record and review tax-related journal entries. Perform regular reconciliations between the General Ledger and tax filings to ensure data integrity.
- Shareholder Affairs: Manage and report on shareholder accounts, ensuring accurate recording of dividends or equity-related tax implications.
- E-Invoicing & Systems: Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 to manage tax data and ensure all operational transactions meet Saudi e-invoicing requirements.
Qualifications, Experiences, Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of Saudi Zakat rules, VAT laws, and Withholding Tax regulations.
- Familiarity with ZATCA’s online portals (ERAD/FATOORA).
- Certificate in Tax and Zakat (e.g., SOCPA-accredited or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- 3–5 years of specialized experience in Tax and Zakat within the Saudi Arabian market.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling).
- Attention to Detail: High precision in calculating tax obligations and reviewing journal entries.
- Communication: Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) to coordinate with government authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Deadline Driven: Ability to manage strict statutory filing calendars and meet month-end targets.
