About this role

Ready to be part of something big? At KRUSH Labs, a privately owned R&D center, we push the boundaries of unmanned systems and advanced hardware. We’re building next-generation platforms that fuse resilient communications, AI-driven autonomy, and precision navigation, designed to perform in the most demanding real-world environments. Join us to tackle complex challenges, turn cutting-edge research into deployed technology, and help shape the future of autonomous systems!

As a Senior Hardware Designer, you will take responsibility for project development from start to end. From understanding and communicating project requirements with stakeholders and team members, to designing and implementation. You will participate in discussions about architecture decisions, design trade-offs and implementation specific impacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across hardware development activities, guiding engineering decisions, coordinating cross-functional technical efforts, and driving best practices throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Lead the design of digital, analog, and power supply circuits, including system-level integration within RF devices
  • Analyze and define clear functional and performance requirements in collaboration with customers
  • Own PCB architecture and oversee layout, ensuring optimal component placement, signal integrity, and manufacturability
  • Perform advanced circuit design, simulations, and validation for complex hardware systems
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to define thermal management, shielding, and mechanical integration strategies
  • Drive schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout in accordance with DFM, DFA and DFT best practices
  • Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and production support
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of complex hardware issues in prototypes and early production units
  • Review and optimize designs to improve performance, reliability, and cost
  • Define and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, schematics, and BOMs
  • Generate TPDs and collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers of PCBs and components
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, provide technical leadership across hardware development activities, and guide architectural and engineering decision-making
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in designing digital, analog, and power circuits for complex systems
  • Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and DFx
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro
  • Solid experience with the implementation of communication interfaces: SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, LVDS
  • Proven experience with the implementation of complex processors, FPGAs and/or SoCs
  • Strong hands-on debugging and testing experience with equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
  • Deep understanding of PCB layout principles, including stack-up design, signal integrity and power integrity considerations

Skills & Abilities Required

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in complex hardware design and validation
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead technical work independently
  • Defining and scoping of tasks and effort estimation
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging and optimizing complex prototypes
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate across hardware, software, mechanical, RF, and manufacturing teams
  • Understanding the impact of embedded software on hardware development
  • Experience in RF circuit design and/or signal integrity simulations is an advantage
  • Knowledge of EMC compliance and testing is a plus
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB 3.1, MGTs) is beneficial
