About this role

Role Purpose:

Lead the management, maintenance, and readiness of all physical assets and site infrastructure at this heritage and cultural progamme ensuring facilities, utilities, and environments are fully prepared to support cultural programming, event operations, and visitor experience in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset & Facilities Management:

·        Lead asset and facilities management serving as the in-house subject matter expert on facilities management and engineering-related service delivery

·        Oversee integrated hard and soft FM services, including performance reviews, service standards, and operational readiness across assigned assets

·        Manage all aspects of FM contract governance, ensuring service providers deliver against contractual obligations, quality standards, and operational requirements

·        Provide engineering oversight to ensure the technical maintainability, operability, and long-term readiness of assets within scope, including assets operated by third parties or nominated operators

·        Support the design and phased mobilization of facilities engineering services, including ramp-up and interim operating arrangements through to steady-state operations

·        Ensure facilities management strategies support future property and asset operations in line with site objectives, operational needs, and long-term asset performance

 

Maintenance & Technical Services:

·        Develop and implement maintenance and technical service strategies that support property governance, asset standards, compliance, auditing, and long-term lifecycle performance

·        Oversee technical systems including MEP, utilities, building systems, and technology infrastructure to ensure maintainability, operability, and service continuity

·        Support asset maintainability and operability through design and build phases, including technical review, handover, testing, commissioning, and certification readiness

·        Monitor operator and asset performance, identify enhancement initiatives, and support asset lifecycle planning to maximize operational efficiency and return on investment

·        Lead or support the procurement and oversight of technical and specialized service providers in line with operational, compliance, and asset requirements

·        Contribute to budgeting, financial management, and CAPEX planning by preparing technical input, P&L summaries, and recommendations for major expenditure

·        Support service setup, interim management, and operation of property assets under direct management or through nominated third-party operators

·        Provide input to monthly, quarterly, and annual internal performance reports for leadership, covering asset condition, compliance, service performance, and improvement priorities

 

Utilities & Infrastructure Management:

·        Ensure reliable and efficient provision of utilities including power, water, waste management, and telecommunications

·        Plan and coordinate infrastructure requirements to support programming, commercial activities, and event operations

·        Manage temporary utilities and infrastructure requirements in coordination with Operations and Event Delivery

·        Monitor capacity and ensure infrastructure supports peak demand during major events

 

Site Readiness & Event Enablement:

·        Ensure the site is fully prepared to support all programming and event activities

·        Coordinate readiness of all spaces, pavilions, and facilities in line with operational and programming requirements

·        Support event setup, changeovers, and reinstatement in coordination with Operations

·        Ensure asset readiness aligns with event timelines and delivery schedules

 

Contract & Service Provider Management:

·        Lead procurement input, selection, and management of FM contractors and service providers

·        Establish service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards

·        Monitor contractor performance and ensure delivery against contractual obligations

·        Manage cost control, contract compliance, and service quality

 

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Management:

·        Ensure compliance with all asset-related regulatory, safety, and operational requirements

·        Maintain all certifications, inspections, and statutory compliance documentation

·        Support HSE frameworks in coordination with Operations and relevant authorities

·        Ensure facilities and infrastructure meet safety standards for public use

 

Sustainability & Asset Optimization:

·        Implement sustainability initiatives related to energy efficiency, water usage, and waste management

·        Optimize asset performance and lifecycle management to reduce operating costs

·        Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and long-term asset value enhancement

 

Cross-Functional Coordination:

·        Work closely with:

o   Operations → event readiness and delivery requirements

o   Programming → spatial and technical needs for cultural activities

o   Commercial → retail, F&B, and activation infrastructure

·        Ensure alignment between asset capabilities and functional requirements

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

·        Define and track KPIs related to asset performance, maintenance, and service delivery

·        Monitor facility uptime, maintenance efficiency, and contractor performance

·        Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and service quality

Required Skills & Competencies

·        Strong experience in facilities and asset management

·        Knowledge of MEP systems and infrastructure management

·        Vendor and contract management capability

·        Understanding of asset lifecycle management and maintenance planning

·        Ability to coordinate with operational and event requirements

·        Problem-solving and technical decision-making skills

Experience Profile

-        12–15+ years of experience,with strong background in asset, facilities, or infrastructure management

-        Proven experience managing large-scale assets, venues, or multi-use sites

-        Strong experience in facilities management, maintenance, and infrastructure operations

-        Experience overseeing both permanent and temporary infrastructure

-        Strong understanding of:

o   MEP systems

o   Utilities management

o   Building systems and infrastructure

-        Experience of managing technical teams and contractors

-        Experience supporting:

o   Large-scale events or festivals

o   High-footfall public environments

-        Understanding of how assets support event delivery and visitor experience

-        Experience managing multiple service providers and contractors

-        Strong understanding of SLAs, performance management, and compliance

-        Experience leading teams in complex, operational environments

-        Ability to coordinate across multiple functions and stakeholders

-        Experience working within structured governance environments

-        Experience in large-scale destinations, cultural assets, or public venues

-        Experience in pre-opening or activation phases of assets
