About this role
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical / Welding / Metallurgical Engineering)
- Preferred: International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification from IIW / Alternative: Master’s Degree in Welding Engineering
Job Summary
The Welding Engineer will be assigned at the client Project Office to review vendor documents such as Welding book (WPS, PQR & Weld Map), Welder Qualification and other related welding procedures in accordance with the project requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Review of vendor documents – Welding book (WPS, PQR & Weld map), Welder Qualification and other related welding procedures in accordance with Drawings, Technical requirements & Project specifications
- Provide technical clarifications related to welding
- Attend meetings with vendor to sort out the clarifications related to welding book comments.
- Surveillance visits to vendors to ensure the welding activity is taking place as per project requirements.
- Review, prepare Technical Deviation Authorization (TDA) for COMPANY submission.
- Work closely with the team to close out the welding book documents on time.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, etc.)
- Expertise in materials science and metallurgy
- Familiarity with international standards and codes (ASME, AWS, ISO)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
Additional Requirements
- Experienced working in ADNOC projects, especially offshore projects.
- Exposure in working with Piping, Pressure vessels, Pipeline, Packages, Offshore structures
- Knowledge in AGES specifications, Internation standards related to welding.
- Experienced working with Alloy 625 cladding, super duplex stainless-steel material etc.
