The Acquisition Trainer II provides instructional support, New Equipment Training (NET), student evaluation, and sustainment training to United States Marine Corps personnel at Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) and Reserve units. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert and instructor responsible for delivering standardized training programs, assessing student performance, and maintaining training materials in accordance with Marine Corps training and education standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver New Equipment Training (NET) to Marine Corps personnel in support of fielding and sustainment of designated acquisition and logistics systems, equipment, and programs.
  • Conduct instructor-led classroom, practical application, and hands-on training events at Marine Corps Major Subordinate Commands and Reserve units.
  • Provide sustainment training to ensure continued operational proficiency and effective utilization of fielded systems and equipment.
  • Evaluate student performance through written examinations, practical exercises, and performance-based assessments.
  • Document and maintain student records, attendance rosters, test results, and training completion documentation.
  • Update and maintain training documentation including instructor guides, student outlines, lesson plans, Programs of Instruction (POIs), student assessments, and test materials.
  • Ensure all training products comply with NAVMC 1553.1A, Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) requirements.
  • Review training effectiveness and recommend improvements to curriculum, instructional methods, and evaluation criteria.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources, facilities, and equipment to support successful course delivery.
  • Provide feedback to government leadership regarding training outcomes, student proficiency, and curriculum enhancements.
  • Support fielding activities and training events at multiple Marine Corps installations as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of supported systems, equipment configurations, technical publications, and Marine Corps training policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Marine Corps training and education methodologies and instructional techniques.
  • Knowledge of NAVMC 1553.1A Systems Approach to Training and Education processes.
  • Ability to develop, revise, and maintain training curricula and instructional materials.
  • Ability to conduct classroom instruction and hands-on practical training.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a training team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and training management systems.
  • Associate degree or equivalent military experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have an active secret clearance.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience conducting military, technical, logistics, acquisition, or systems training.
  • Experience developing or updating instructional materials, lesson plans, and training documentation.
  • Experience delivering training to adult learners in a military environment.
  • Familiarity with Marine Corps acquisition, logistics, or fielding processes preferred.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in classroom environments, military installations, field environments, and training facilities.
  • Position requires frequent travel to Marine Corps Major Subordinate Commands and Reserve units.
  • May require lifting and transporting training equipment and materials.
  • Must be capable of supporting training activities in operational and field environments.
