Head of Commercial

This is an opportunity to lead the commercial strategy and performance of our Netherlands business during an exciting period of transformation. Working closely with local and global stakeholders, you will drive sustainable growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive commercial growth: Lead new business development, customer growth initiatives, and commercial strategy across diverse sectors.
  • Strengthen market presence: Champion business development activities, strengthen Westfalia Fruit’s position within the Dutch market, and create the foundations for sustainable growth.
  • Forge profitable partnerships: Develop strategic customer relationships, negotiate profitable agreements, and drive long-term commercial success.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Conduct in-depth market research, analyse data, and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage the commercial budget: Effectively control and manage the commercial budget for responsible resource allocation.
  • Lead a high-performing team: Coach, mentor, and inspire a dynamic sales team for optimal performance and career development.
  • Experience working within a similar role, leading a successful sales team,
  • In-depth knowledge of the fresh produce industry,
  • Demonstrable success developing and delivering commercial growth strategies within the fresh produce sector,
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing commercial teams,
  • Prior experience negotiating and closing contracts with national retailers,
  • Strong rapport building skills,
  • Demonstrable initiative-taking and innovative problem-solving abilities,
  • Skilled negotiator with commercial and financial acumen,
  • Experience leading business transformation, organisational change, or commercial improvement initiatives would be advantageous,
  • Fluent Dutch and English skills, any additional European languages would be beneficial.
