Maintenance Assistant / Handyman

Job description:

The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant/Handyman -Full Time to join our Maintenance team.

They will be responsible to maintain, repair services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds ensuring facilities are kept in operation and a safe working condition for our guests.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Weekend availability

As Maintenance Assistant your key responsibilities include:

• To maintain and repair services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds
• To follow daily task list as issued by the Chief Engineer or Senior Shift Engineer
• Carry out maintenance request orders eg plumbing tasks, changing light bulbs, minor electricals
• To carry out PPM in all hotel areas, recognising faults and rectify them in a prompt and efficient manner
• Provide a friendly and professional service to all guests when around the public areas or in bedrooms
• Is responsible for the care and cleanliness of the Hotel engineering areas allocated i.e. workshop, plantrooms etc.
• To ensure compliance with relevant and current legislation at all times whilst at work eg Health & Safety Policy, Fire Regulations

As Maintenance Assistant the essential skills required:

• Plumbing and electrical skills advantageous
• Keen eye for detail and able to work alone.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
• A team player who can manage own workload
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.
