The Role

This is an excellent CASUAL opportunity for nurses seeking flexibility and variety. 

This role operates across a 24/7 roster (Monday–Sunday), with shifts ranging from early mornings through to overnight hours. While some weeks may fall within Monday–Friday hours, full-time availability and flexibility to work across a variety of shift times, including weekends and late nights, is essential. 


Key tasks of this appealing role include:

Clinical:

  • Perform study related clinical activities i.e., venepuncture ECGs, monitor vital signs and perform other specialised nursing procedures as appropriate to the specific needs of the study and the individual subjects.
  • To ensure biological samples are collected and processed as required for the study protocol and NZCR SOPs.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.  These may include collation of study documents, faxing and photocopying of study documents, preparation of blood collection tubes.
  • To ensure the safety and rights of the study participant is always protected.
  • To ensure that all documentation is accurate and timely and is in accordance with the study protocol and ICH/GCP.

Research:

  • To educate the clinical study participants in the requirements of the study according to the study protocol.
  • To support study participants who choose to participate in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the study participants’ advocate.
  • To assess the study participant prior to trial treatment, monitor the study participant who has receive trial treatment and follow the study participant up on completion of trial treatment as required by the protocol.
  • To report and record any adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs) that occur whilst the study participant is being treated on a clinical trial.


Skills and Experience

  • You must be a dedicated NZ Registered nurse. 
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Venepuncture and IV certification experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
  • Excellent clinical practice skills 
  • Good organisational skills – able to manage timeframes.
  • Experience as a Research Nurse would be beneficial but not essential.
