We are hiring a passionate and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join a fast-growing Bangalore-based startup building a developer-first, open-source API platform. As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to design and execute effective testing strategies that support rapid product releases without compromising quality. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, hands-on with automation frameworks, and comfortable working in a startup environment where ownership and initiative are valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications and APIs using Playwright.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand product requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing to ensure application stability and quality.
• Identify, document, and track bugs and inconsistencies through their lifecycle until resolution.
• Continuously improve testing frameworks, QA processes, and release workflows.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and code review discussions to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work closely with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
• Monitor application behavior and user flows to proactively identify potential quality risks.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
• Maintain clear and detailed QA documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation is mandatory.
• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices.
• Experience in API testing and validating backend services.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript-based testing environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Exposure to open-source products or developer tools.
• Experience with performance testing tools and browser debugging.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, or Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge of security or accessibility testing practices.
