Job Description

Job Summary
Responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of finished medical devices and components to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications before shipment. This role is crucial in maintaining product integrity and patient safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of finished goods for defects such as scratches, blemishes, discoloration, or incorrect labeling according to established visual acceptance criteria.

  • Perform dimensional measurements using various precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product conformity to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Verify correct product labeling, packaging, and serialization information.

  • Review and verify all accompanying documentation (e.g., Device History Records, Certificates of Analysis) for accuracy and completeness.

  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials in accordance with established procedures.

  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist with root cause analysis as needed.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and logs.

  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, and safety regulations.

  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.


Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO 13485 standards is a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
