Procurement Analyst II
About this role
Welcome to the Agentic Commerce Era
At Commerce, our mission is to empower businesses to innovate, grow, and thrive with our open, AI-driven commerce ecosystem. As the parent company of BigCommerce, Feedonomics, and Makeswift, we connect the tools and systems that power growth, enabling businesses to unlock the full potential of their data, deliver seamless and personalized experiences across every channel, and adapt swiftly to an ever-changing market. We believe in harnessing AI responsibly to unlock new possibilities, and we’re looking for individuals who use it intentionally to solve problems, accelerate outcomes, and expand what’s possible in their role. Our purpose is to help businesses confidently solve complex commerce challenges so they can build smarter, adapt faster, and grow on their own terms. If you want to be part of a team of bold builders, sharp thinkers, and technical trailblazers who shape the future of commerce, this is the place for you.
This role will evaluate, negotiate, and optimize the way our company spends. Partners closely with business stakeholders and vendors across the organization to deliver the insights and agreements that shape how we buy.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, takes initiative without waiting for direction, and gets energized by turning a messy vendor landscape into a streamlined, cost-effective supply base. You'll own real sourcing and renewal workstreams from day one u and help fix the process while you do it.
What You'll Do:
Own a high volume of concurrent vendor renewals - tracking timelines, keeping stakeholders aligned, and driving negotiations to close before deadlines hit.
Run end-to-end RFx processes - including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs - from requirements gathering and supplier identification through evaluation, selection, and award
Lead vendor conversations on commercial terms - including asking for better pricing and protecting against future price increases - partnering with Legal on terms and liability while owning the commercial red lines
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner to the business on purchasing decisions and supplier performance
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, and business unit leaders to align sourcing strategies with company priorities and budget targets
Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to inform sourcing decisions and negotiate better value
Help rebuild procurement processes, documentation, and stakeholder-facing resources - and support the selection and implementation of new procurement tooling, with the specific improvement work flexing to your strengths and interests
Enthusiastically leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline sourcing workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and unlock new efficiencies across contracting, supplier evaluation, and spend analysis
Who You Are:
Highly organized with a strong ownership mentality - comfortable holding 10+ parallel workstreams without dropping balls
Comfortable being put in front of a vendor to push on pricing and terms, not just analyze them from a spreadsheet; you don't need to have negotiated large deals yet, but you're confident having the conversation
Thrives in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and stays on top of moving deadlines when things are still being built
A natural fixer who spots broken processes and improves them without being asked
Able to influence and align Finance, Legal, IT, and business stakeholders without direct authority
3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or a closely transferable field (e.g. sales, consulting, customer success, or finance) where you've negotiated, managed stakeholders, and worked cross-functionally; we'll flex for an exceptional earlier-career candidate who clearly has the ownership and commercial instinct above
Hands-on experience running RFx processes and managing vendor negotiations across indirect or technology spend categories is a plus, not a requirement
Comfortable picking up new technologies quickly and willing to become a power user of our internal tooling
Strong analytical skills with the ability to build cost models, evaluate supplier proposals, and translate data into clear recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders and vendors through data and sound business judgment
A self-starter with a passion for process improvement and continuous learning, comfortable working independently
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field welcome, but not required if your experience demonstrates the above
Able to work in a hybrid environment, with in-person attendance required three days per week at our Austin Domain office; candidates must be based in or commutable to Austin (relocation and remote are not available for this posting)
This description is intended to serve as a summary of key duties and responsibilities and may not contain a comprehensive list of activities.
(Pay Transparency: $71,400.00 - $120,750.00 USD)
