Position: Patient Transporter

Department: Patient Transport

Schedule: Overnight 11pm-7:30am, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday (Monday, Tuesday, Friday off)

Position Summary:

The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center - South.

The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments.

EDUCATION:

  • High diploma or GED preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pullingΒ and standing.

  • Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.

  • Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.

  • Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred

Compensation Range:

$17.92- $26.63
