The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Wire Installation Engineer (Mid-level) to develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs, support integrated product teams, and resolve manufacturing related issues. This is a BDS position based in Tukwila, Washington, primarily supporting the E7 program with opportunities across other MS&B programs. This position will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.
As a member of the E7 Wiring Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will work in a dynamic team environment engaging with the full production value stream from Engineering to Shop Floor to successfully execute post-production modifications and standard production for the E7 aircraft. Wiring integration is key between aircraft structure and mission systems, providing exposure to multiple design IPTs and broad system knowledge.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
• Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing related issues including root cause identification and NCR dispositions.
• Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
• Communicate effectively through listening, verbal and written methods.
• Work in a dynamic environment, multi-task, and prioritize work statements.
• Demonstrate patience, resilience, flexibility, initiative, detail orientation, and a willingness to learn in a changing environment.
• Work under general supervision.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 3+ years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
• 5+ years of experience with 3D Modeling/CAD software.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
• 5+ years of experience with wire bundle/electrical design.
• Experience in an engineering environment.
• Familiarity with the 737 aircraft and systems.
• Experience with FAA certification requirements for electrical design.
• Experience using WIRS.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and ENOVIA.
