CENTERSTONE MEDICAL GROUP

Physician – Primary Care FQHC

Location: Hannibal, MO / Quincy, IL

Department: Primary Care

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Nights or Weekends)

About Centerstone Medical Group

Centerstone Medical Group is proud to be one of the largest community-based medical groups in the nation. We support the medical providers who deliver integrated health services across the organizations under Centerstone, including psychiatry, medication-assisted treatment for addiction, crisis stabilization, primary care, home health care, pharmacy, integrated health, and a wide range of specialty care.

We don't do business as usual — we push boundaries and redefine care every day. We take a whole-person approach, integrating primary care, behavioral health, addiction medicine, and dental and pharmacy services to meet people where they are. We don't work in silos — we work as a team, collaborating across disciplines to solve real problems in real time.

We're looking for bold thinkers — physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and dental providers who want to break barriers and rethink healthcare. If you're ready to do more, think bigger, and change lives, we want you on our team.

Position Summary

Practice medicine the way you always intended.

At Centerstone, our Primary Care Physicians provide whole-person, integrated care — supporting patients with medical, behavioral health, and substance use needs in a setting that prioritizes time, connection, and outcomes over volume.

This role offers a rare combination of predictable weekday scheduling, mission-driven work in an underserved community, strong interdisciplinary support (behavioral health, care coordination, case management), and meaningful impact on patients who truly need access to care.

You'll deliver comprehensive primary care while collaborating closely with behavioral health teams — allowing you to treat the whole patient, not just symptoms.

This is more than a traditional primary care role. Here, you'll treat complex patients in a high-impact, underserved community, work at the intersection of primary care and behavioral health, and practice in a setting designed to reduce burnout — not create it. This role is ideal for physicians who are seeking purpose-driven work, want to step away from high-volume systems, and value time with patients and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care, including medical evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

  • Manage chronic conditions and support patients with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use needs.

  • Ensure continuity of care through follow-up and coordination with the care team.

  • Work closely with behavioral health providers, care managers, and support staff.

  • Participate in case reviews and care planning discussions.

  • Support integrated treatment approaches for complex patients.

  • Engage in patient and community health education initiatives.

  • Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and care model advancement.

  • Option to participate in training, mentorship, or supervision of advanced practice providers.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.

  • Board Certified (or Board Eligible) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

  • Active (or eligible) Missouri or Illinois medical license.

  • DEA license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in behavioral health or addiction medicine.

  • Addiction Medicine certification or willingness to obtain.

Why Join Us?

  • HRSA Loan Repayment eligibility (substantial multi-year assistance)

  • Competitive salary plus productivity incentives

  • PTO: 160 hours per year front-loaded annual leave (40 hours may roll-over from year to year)

  • Sick Leave: 40 hours front-loaded sick leave (does not roll-over from year to year)

  • CME: $3,500 CME expense reimbursement with 5 paid days CME every two years (does not roll-over but is renewed every 2 years)

  • 100% of relevant professional license fees reimbursed by the company

  • 100% professional liability insurance covered by the company
Flexible schedule builds. We will work with you to build a clinic schedule to meet your needs. Limitations are typically assuring other staff (i.e., nursing, and front desk) staff are available to support your schedule.

  • Manageable patient volumes focused on quality of care, with a supportive care team to reduce administrative burden

  • Opportunities to engage in teaching, mentorship, and program development

  • Opportunity to be part of an integrated, mission-driven healthcare team

  • Collaborative culture focused on improving access to high-quality care in underserved communities
