About this role

We're looking for a Member of Technical Staff to design and build the systems that power Bifrost's simulation and synthetic data platform. You'll own significant parts of the stack, from infrastructure and backend services to frontend and developer-facing tooling.

This isn't a role where you'll be handed a spec. You'll be expected to identify what needs building, make architectural decisions, and ship production systems that serve some of the most demanding technical teams in the world.

๐ŸŒ Your Main Quest

Build technology that gives AI the fastest path to understanding the physical world. Our customers use Bifrost to land spacecraft, detect threats across oceans, and train autonomous systems in minutes instead of months. You'll be the kind of engineer who makes that possible.

  • Own and ship entire systems end-to-end, from problem definition to production

  • Make architecture and design decisions that shape the platform's direction

  • Move comfortably between infrastructure, backend, and frontend work depending on what's needed

  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Raise the engineering bar through code quality, tooling improvements, and mentorship

๐Ÿ“œ Core Responsibilities

  • Design and build production systems across the full stack: infrastructure, backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications

  • Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS (Kubernetes, containerized workloads, GPU compute, auto-scaling)

  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and developer tooling

  • Develop backend services and data pipelines (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go)

  • Design and maintain relational database schemas

  • Build responsive frontends and developer-facing interfaces when the work calls for it

  • Debug and resolve production issues across distributed systems

  • Implement observability, monitoring, and reliability practices

  • Use modern AI coding tools effectively to ship faster without sacrificing quality

  • Location: Singapore

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Strong generalist mindset โ€” you've worked across infrastructure, backend, and frontend, and you're comfortable picking up whatever's needed

  • Deep experience with at least two of: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, C++

  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and deployment at scale

  • Strong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, and API architecture

  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL

  • Evidence of high ownership โ€” you've shipped and maintained systems, not just contributed features

  • Clear, direct communication โ€” you write well and explain technical decisions simply

โœจ You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, simulation, or physical AI

  • Background at a company building self-driving vehicles, drones, defense systems, or robotics platforms

  • Experience with game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity), rendering pipelines, or 3D tooling

  • Exposure to computer vision, synthetic data pipelines, or ML/AI training workflows

  • Experience with GPU compute workloads and real-time rendering infrastructure

  • Background at a high-caliber engineering organization (top tech companies, well-regarded startups, or research labs)

Why Bifrost?

  • Work at the frontier of AI and robotics with the most technical teams in the world

  • Small team, no red tape. Your work ships to production and directly impacts customers like NASA, Anduril, Honda, and ST Engineering

  • Real ownership โ€” take charge and see the direct impact of your work

  • Inclusive, judgement-free and safe space to be yourself

๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ What It's Like Working With Us

Enjoy a focused, dedicated working environment where we never forget how to have a bit of fun! Take the opportunity to do projects outside of your comfort zone โ€” that's where the greatest learning happens. We love out-of-the-box thinkers and problem-solvers who relish sharing, collaboration and growth.
