Senior Development Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity within Clarivate Analytics to support the A&G Content Solutions space, including ProQuest, EBookCentral, and other products in our portfolio serving customers worldwide.  

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development, system administration or a closely related area including 3 years of experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, CloudFormation, 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, 2 years of experience with GitHub and Jenkins for CI/CD workflows and 2 years of experience working with Docker containerization 

• Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field 

• Proficiency in English  

​It would be great if you also have . . .  

• Strong UNIX/Linux command-line skills with ability to write effective bash scripts to automate procedures and workflows 

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and configuration management (Terraform, Python/Ruby scripting, Chef/Ansible/Salt). 

• Experience managing containerized environments, particularly ECS and EKS. 

• Strong knowledge of monitoring and application administration, including Datadog, CloudWatch, and Java/Apache/Tomcat environments.  

What will you be doing in this role?  

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Cloud Development Kits (CDKs) and/or scripting languages such as Python  

• Interact with the lead software development organization, gathering build requirements, providing status updates, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction  

• Manage the creation, maintenance, and deployment of products and build infrastructure  

• Support, troubleshoot, and maintain build and test environments in cloud and on-premises infrastructure  

• Partner with different teams to support application deployments into production, including refreshed existing applications and new initiatives  

• Collaborate with data center operations and technology teams to resolve tactical infrastructure issues and complete strategic projects  

• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 product support

As a Senior DevOps Engineer within Clarivate Analytics you will be supporting the build and deploy processes for A&G Content Solutions products including ProQuest, EBookCentral, and other platforms in our portfolio. These products serve academic institutions, researchers, and libraries worldwide with critical content delivery and discovery solutions. You will work on infrastructure that powers customer-facing applications as well as internal systems in a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance for our global user base.

About the Team  

Our team is spread across multiple locations worldwide, and in this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across Barcelona, the United States (Eastern Time Zone), and Serbia. You will report directly to the DevOps Engineering Manager.  

Hours of Work  

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within the CET time zone. This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
