About this role

Summary/Objective

An Application Crew Member assists in land application of manure from local livestock or municipal operations using dragline application equipment.

 

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Apply manure using dragline land application equipment as part of an application crew.
  2. Follow all Iowa DNR guidelines and regulations for applying liquid manure.
  3. Complete necessary paperwork for each livestock site that manure is applied for.  
  4. Perform daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance on application equipment and tractors.
  5. Represent Puck in a professional manner by providing good customer service.
  6. Perform daily duties as expected for the application crew role assigned.
  7. Maintain Iowa DNR certification to apply liquid manure.
  8. Provide feedback on the operation and performance on new and prototype Puck equipment and hose.
  9. Assist in the service shop when not in the field or performing maintenance on Puck equipment.
  10. Use sound judgment and abilities to support the best interests of the company in all situations.
  11. Work additional hours, evenings, and weekends as required by application manager.
  12. Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, day, evening and night. Ability to work additional hours, evenings, and weekends as required by application manager.

 

Travel

Travel is primarily local to different livestock operations, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Primary sites are in Iowa and South Dakota.
