Objective of the position:
The Production Assistant Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations at Spark Plant to ensure safe, on-time, and defect-free delivery of parts to Daimler Truck production plants. This position supports operational excellence by driving production performance, strengthening leadership coverage across all shifts, developing high-performance teams, and promoting continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and IMS/ERP systems utilization. The role also ensures alignment with SQDCM targets while fostering accountability, teamwork, and customer-focused execution

Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):

5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management, preferably in automotive or heavy industry.

Academic Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Main Functions:

  • Production Leadership
    • Manage day-to-day production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery/equipment/materials, cost, and moral targets.
    • Ensure all processes and operations comply with Daimler Truck standards and IMS requirements.
    • Use IMS/ERP systems to plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet customer demand.
  • Quality & Delivery
    • Drive a culture of zero defects and ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Partner with Quality/ Engineering, materials, and maintenance teams to resolve non-conformities quickly and effectively.
    • Ensure root-cause analysis and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Lead Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving initiatives across the shop floor.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency-improvement projects.
    • Foster a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
  • Team Development
    • Build, coach, and motivate a high-performance production team.
    • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and open communication.
    • Identify training needs and support the growth of supervisors and operators.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure a safe working environment and promote adherence to Safety standards.
    • Drive risk identification, reporting, and corrective actions.
