About this role

Freese and Nichols is seeking an Electrical Discipline Lead to establish and grow our electrical capabilities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Atlanta, Georgia. Electrical and control systems are critical to the success of Water/Wastewater and water transmission projects, and this role will be instrumental in advancing both our technical excellence and project delivery in these markets.

As part of a long-term, strategic investment in Oklahoma and Georgia, this leader will build, develop, and lead a high-performing regional team. This is an opportunity to shape a growing practice, strengthen our local presence, and support the delivery of impactful infrastructure projects within your community.

We are looking for a proven—or high-potential—engineering leader who is passionate about developing people, growing teams, and enhancing client service through strong regional engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Resource planning, workload assignments, and supporting business development
  • Review technical documents for accuracy and ensure execution of projects
  • Grow the region and build a team; identify hiring needs for growth, and development planning
  • Contribute to business proposals, interviews, and position activities
  • Coordinate regularly with Manager, and other Leads
  • Serve as a project manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline 
  • Professional Engineer license 
  • 6+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience 
  • Demonstrated experience designing Water/Wastewater and/or large pump station electrical systems 
  • Experience leading technical teams and performing quality control reviews 
  • Ability to travel as required to support project needs 

Preferred

  • Experience with construction-phase services, inspections, and commissioning 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills 
  • Experience training or mentoring junior engineering staff
  • Experience with project management, personnel leadership, and discipline coordination within a consulting environment
