Job Summary:

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join a collaborative team advancing research on the non-medical drivers of health and their impact on chronic disease. This opportunity offers applied research experience grounded in community-based participatory research (CBPR), in partnership with Clemson University, Prisma Health, and LiveWell Greenville. Fellows may also engage with national research networks through affiliated institutions.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to applied research projects focused on community health and health equity
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support program development and evaluation
  • Prepare manuscripts, policy briefs, and community reports; present findings in academic and public forums
  • Translate research into practice by co-developing and evaluating sustainable, community-informed programs
  • Contribute to grant writing and assist in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities
  • Build and strengthen partnerships across academic, clinical, and community sectors
  • Support capacity-building efforts among community partners through training and technical assistance
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students engaged in community health research
  • Collaborate in the design and facilitation of seminars, workshops, or academic courses
  • Engage in a structured CBPR training curriculum (synchronous and asynchronous modules)
  • Develop accessible communication materials to share findings with broad audiences
  • Participate in dissemination activities that inform policy and improve health outcomes

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MS, MPH, MHA, MSc, or equivalent) or doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, DrPH, DNP, DHA) in public health, community health, epidemiology, healthcare administration, or a related discipline
  • Degree must be earned within the last three years (ABD candidates will be considered if degree is conferred by the start date)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage academic and non-academic audiences
  • Experience working with or alongside historically excluded communities
  • Background in health equity, public health policy, or systems-level interventions is a plus
