The Specialty Human Services Division (SHS) is proud to serve the Human and Social Services sector for more than 40 years. Since 1980, we’ve been Protecting Those Who Improve Your Community® and were one of the first carriers to offer niche coverage solutions to nonprofit and service organizations. SHS works with agents to address the coverage needs and loss exposures of more than 16,000 social service and non-profit organizations across the country.

SHS is currently looking for a Data Reporting Analyst in our downtown Cincinnati office.  The job grade and title will depend on the successful applicant’s level of experience. Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assists in gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources to support business objectives.
  • Maintains and updates databases, ensuring data is organized and accessible for reporting purposes.
  • Learns to develops reports, dashboards, and visualizations to share information with stakeholders.
  • Observes and learns to identify patterns in data to suggest improvements.
  • Participates in collaborating with various departments to understand their data reporting needs.
  • Learns to present findings to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assists in identifying process improvements to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting efficiency.
  • Develops knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics and reporting.
  • Assists in documenting data processes, workflows, reporting standards, and data dictionaries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in reporting and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Ability to think critically.

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Performs work under close supervision. Developing proficiency in analyzing data sets and identify patterns, trends, and insights. Foundational analytical skills and attention to detail. Develops and maintains knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess the quality of data. General knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Develops understanding of industry products/coverages and applies that knowledge to support business activity. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
