Your Role

Gensler is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as a Public Relations Specialist. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and views PR as a people-centered activity. They will work alongside our Regional PR Director and broader team to provide PR admin and related activities representing Gensler’s brand, reputation, and thought leadership in our markets. The PR Specialist will sit in the Bangalore office. 

What You Will Do

Media Relations

  • Draft communication materials including press releases, project fact sheets, key messages, blogs, and website content.

  • Field and manage media requests.

  • Prepare reporter briefing sheets and staff media interviews.

  • Maintain media lists; research and add new reporter contacts as needed.

  • Track media placements and speaking engagements.

 Thought Leadership

Speaking Opportunities

  • Research and compile business, industry, and community events for speaking opportunities and/or office attendance.

  • Develop messaging or presentations for Gensler experts as needed.

  • Staff each speaking event to take photos for social media channels and manage onsite interviews with reporters if they are on site.

  • Coordinate sponsorship opportunities if previously agreed to by Managing Directors.
     

Blogs and Contributed Articles

  • Work with architects and designers to source ideas for articles.

  • Assist architects and designers with writing and editing.

  • Once published, track articles and post them to social media channels. 
     

Social Media 

  • Maintain our social media presence on the San Antonio Instagram account

  • Work with the local office to develop market-specific content, i.e. posts and videos.

  • Support with graphics/layout for posts.

  • Track views, engagement, and performance of content (Sprout Social or other social media tracking platform experience required)

  • Attend office, industry, and community events to capture content.
     

Awards 

  • Work with the Awards Specialist to review programs and projects.

  • Attend quarterly award platform review meetings with Design Directors.

  • Manage submission content development and reviews with the project team in the office, in collaboration with the Awards Specialist.  

  • Assistance in writing content, as needed  
     

Photography 

  • Provide administrative support to project teams for pre-shoot planning and coordination.

  • Attend and staff photoshoots, as needed.
     

Admin

  • Attend monthly check-in meetings with Managing Directors and Marketing Manager.

  • Compile weekly media placements, speaking opportunities, events, and award wins for This Week at Gensler report.

  • Compile weekly media placements, speaking opportunities, events, and award wins along with drafting LinkedIn captions for India

  • Work with other PR Specialists to maintain and update the regional PR Sharepoint site.
     

Your Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, or Journalism (similar degrees may be considered, depending on the relevancy of your skills and experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in a variety of public relations, media, or communications roles, either agency-based or in-house. Experience in business-to-business is preferred over business-to-consumer.

  • Strong writing, editing, grammar, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to craft, prepare, and execute writing assignments (pitches, blog/social media posts, other communications, as needed) under deadlines.

  • Works cohesively as a member of a broader communications team, pitches in to help others, forward-thinking go-getter; ability to adapt in dynamic settings.

  • Video editing skills and familiarity with Adobe Premiere are preferred.

  • Software: Microsoft Office, InDesign or Canva, Cision, Sprout Social
