Sr Finance Manager - Manufacturing Operations
About this role
Job Description Summary
What if your financial leadership didn't just keep the books — it helped power the world's clean energy transition? As Site Finance Leader for GE Vernova's Power Transmission manufacturing facility in Clearwater, Florida, you'll be at the intersection of strategy and execution, shaping how one of our key manufacturing sites performs financially. This is a senior role for someone who sees beyond the numbers — someone who can translate financial insight into operational action and build a culture of financial rigor from the factory floor up.Job Description
What You'll Do
You'll serve as the senior finance partner for the Clearwater manufacturing site, owning the full financial picture — from factory budgeting and cost analysis to project-level profit and loss (P&L) accountability and balance sheet integrity. You'll work closely with site operations, supply chain, and regional finance leadership to align financial goals with business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own site financial performance — develop and manage the factory budget, produce regular financial reports, and lead monthly and quarterly close activities in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and revenue recognition policy
- Drive cost discipline — conduct detailed manufacturing cost analysis, identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and measure productivity against standards and actuals
- Lead project finance — manage P&L and balance sheet for your project portfolio, partner with Project Managers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks, and support quarterly project reviews with clear reporting on status, risks, and expected financial outcomes
- Oversee Order-to-Remittance (OTR) finance processes — including order processing, billing, collections, and revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across the portfolio
- Ensure financial integrity and compliance — maintain accurate project accounting, support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and corporate policies, including balance sheet account reconciliations
- Build financial capability — develop and mentor your team, promote a strong financial culture across finance and operational functions, and partner with operations and supply chain leaders to embed financial thinking into day-to-day decision-making
Who You Are
You're a strategic finance professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment — equally comfortable in a boardroom presenting to senior leadership and on the shop floor solving a cost variance. You bring the analytical rigor to model complex financials and the interpersonal confidence to influence without authority. You're energized by building something: processes, capabilities, and teams that make the whole site stronger.
Qualifications
Required:
- A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements
- 8+ Years experience in finance, with demonstrated exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to communicate financial information clearly and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience with financial close processes, project accounting, and compliance frameworks (GAAP, SOX)
- Experience with enterprise financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Power BI (Business Intelligence)
Preferred:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent professional certification
- Background in GE Vernova's Financial Management Program (FMP) or Operations Finance Leadership Program (OFLP)
