What You Will Do:
Dallas Airfoil Repair Operations, a recognized leader in the refurbishment of aero‑engine and Industrial Gas Turbine airfoils, is seeking a skilled Welder Technician to join our growing Grand Prairie, TX facility. We offer a dynamic work environment where motivated individuals can contribute to innovative repair solutions and continuous improvement.
This position is available on the AWW (6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Fri – Sun.).
- Follow detailed instructions to execute development, repair, and restoration work on engine parts and tools.
- Interpret work requirements and gather necessary equipment to perform routine repair and modification tasks.
- Perform TIG welding operations to fabricate or restore components in accordance with close tolerances and defined specifications.
- Use various fixed and variable measuring instruments to verify dimensions and record results.
- Identify the need for equipment maintenance and arrange for repairs or replacements as required.
- Conduct routine servicing and equipment checks following established procedures and written instructions.
- Perform daily walk‑around inspections of all equipment and machinery used in welding operations.
- Support process development, new tooling trials, and other specialized assignments within job scope and skill level.
- Assist other trades on joint projects where skill overlap supports efficient workflow.
- Escalate work difficulties to the supervisor as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation to communicate findings and request approvals.
- Obtain and maintain required licenses, permits, and certifications as applicable.
- Perform additional tasks within the scope of this job description to support departmental goals and enhance skill development.
- Conduct visual wear and dimensional inspections as required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Capability to perform visual wear and dimensional inspections when required.
- Successful completion of a welding certification test.
- Compliance with FAA regulations is required as DARO is a regulated facility.
- Progress toward CORE Associates certification.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Three years of AC TIG welding experience, preferably in aerospace or aircraft engine component repair.
- Proficiency in welding various metal types.

Pratt & Whitney Grand Prairie, TX is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
