The Capture Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and managing business development leads while leading the capture process across assigned programs and technology domains.

This role involves engaging in complex, high-priority opportunities with multiple senior stakeholders, often navigating ambiguity, uncertainty, and competing requirements, and acting autonomously to resolve them. Additionally, the Capture Manager provides leadership across strategic business activities, including customer and subcontractor relationships, opportunity and solution development, proposal management, project reviews, contract negotiation, and broader strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with diverse teams across the Raytheon Business, ADF and Commonwealth
  • Support business development activities by managing key stakeholder relationships, coordinating pursuit efforts, and contributing to opportunity identification while consistently demonstrating integrity and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and delivery of Annual Operating Plans and New Business Investment initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader organisational strategy.
  • Lead end-to-end capture management activities, including the preparation and coordination of RFIs, RFTs, EOIs, and unsolicited proposals, ensuring high-quality and competitive submissions.
  • Develop detailed white papers, briefings, and supporting documentation to shape strategies, inform decision-making, and strengthen opportunity development.
  • Drive and support strategic initiatives, including leading elements of strategy development, conducting opportunity assessments, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to refine approaches.
  • Lead and participate in governance and review processes, including independent reviews, Gate reviews, and colour team reviews, ensuring thorough preparation, effective presentation, and timely closure of actions.
  • Support post-proposal and award activities, including offer definition, contract negotiations, maintaining opportunity forecasts, and developing resource plans to enable successful execution of strategic activities.
  • Operate effectively within a matrix organisation by collaborating with senior managers and cross-functional teams, adhering to functional standards and processes, and supporting broader operational requirements, including domestic and international travel as needed.


Qualifications

  • Requires a University Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
  • Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of business development.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of strategy, campaign, and/or capture disciplines within the Function /Product Line and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs, or systems.
  • Significant experience in strategic planning.
