As a postdoctoral researcher in genomics and quantum biology, your responsibilities will include :

  • Designing studies, conducting genomic sequencing (including whole genome sequencing, Sanger sequencing, and single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping).
  • Analyzing data, interpreting findings, and publishing and presenting results. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with others to address health disparities in research.
  • Research projects in this field often require a multidisciplinary approach, combining genomics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and social sciences to comprehensively analyze the complex contributing factors to health disparities.
  • As part of your research, you may work with large-scale genomic datasets, such as genome-wide association studies (GWAS), next-generation sequencing data, or electronic health records, to identify genetic variants or biomarkers that may be associated with health disparities.
  • In addition to your research responsibilities, you may be assigned other related duties as needed.
  • Like other postdoctoral positions, the typical duration of a postdoctoral position in genomics and health disparities ranges from one to three years, depending on performance and renewal of funding.
  • During this time, you are expected to advance your research skills, publish your work, and build a strong foundation for your future career.
