About this role

Position's Objective

The Warehouse Production Technician is a hands-on role that helps move materials and products through all stages of our process — from receiving raw materials and managing inventory to mixing paint batches, packaging finished goods, and helping with shipping. This role plays a key part in making sure our manufacturing and shipping operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently


Duties and Responsibilities

Warehouse Duties
• Receive and inspect raw materials and supplies.
• Keep stock organized and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and 5S guidelines.
• Use forklifts and other equipment to move materials.
• Track inventory and report when items need restocking.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and ready to use.


Production Duties

• Mix paint batches based on set formulas.

• Use and care for production equipment like mixers and sprayers.

• Help clean equipment and support lean manufacturing efforts.

• Perform general tasks using tools such as a sander, grinder or drill to prepare substrates. 


Packaging & Shipping
• Package and label finished goods properly.
• Help prepare documents for shipments.
• Support loading and shipping tasks as needed.
• Prepare SOPs to standardize the shipping process of paint kits.


Health & Safety
• Keep work areas clean and safe in both warehouse and production zones.


Qualifications.

• English Proficiency: Comfortable reading and communicating in English in a work setting.

• A technical diploma or a diploma from the "School of Hard Knocks" is equally valuable for achieving success in this role.
• A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing (production) environment.
• Forklift license and knowledge of safe handling practices (preferred).
• Reach Truck experience needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and

• Familiarity with inventory systems is considered an asset.

• Comfortable working in a diverse team and respectful of different backgrounds.
• Able to prioritize tasks and stay on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
• Focused on accuracy in production, packaging, and documentation.
• Works well with others, supports teammates, and helps maintain a positive work atmosphere.
• Able to troubleshoot issues and adapt quickly when challenges arise.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and documentation.


Physical Expectations & Environmental Factors

• Repetitive motions and ergonomic risk factors are essential, requiring the implementation of mitigation strategies to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting, often with weights up to 50 lbs. Capacity to climb stairs or ladders to reach high shelves or storage areas as needed.
• A full range of motion and barrier-free mobility are necessary for effectively performing the responsibilities of this role.
• Ability to read inventory labels and documents, and use computer screens for data entry and reporting. Strong auditory skills for effective communication in a noisy environment and responding to alarms or equipment sounds.
• Regular handling of tools, scanners, and inventory management devices. Precision in using hand tools and operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) when necessary.
• The position is based in a warehouse environment characterized by loud noise levels and exposure to temperature variations.
• All GIT employees entering the lab, production or warehouse environments are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
