inGain is a Latvian B2B fintech startup delivering an end-to-end, no-code SaaS platform for launching and running lending operations from digital application flows and underwriting to servicing and debt collection. Established and based in Riga, we have steadily scaled since our foundation in 2022, now comprising a team of over 30 talents serving clients across 11 markets in Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Our Tech Stack:

• Backend: PHP 8.3 with custom modular framework that extensively leverages Symfony and Illuminate components to support complex, large-scale SaaS workflows
• Frontend: Laravel Blade, focused on clarity, performance, and maintainability
• Databases: MySQL 8 as our primary relational datastore
• Caching & Performance: Redis for caching and fast data access
• Observability & Monitoring: Sentry for error tracking, Grafana and Prometheus for metrics and system visibility
• Infrastructure & Local Development: Docker-based development environments for consistency and ease of setup
• Version Control: Self-hosted GitLab with full CI/CD pipelines
• Project Management: We use Jira for managing tickets and Confluence for storing up-to-date information
• Collaboration: Slack for day-to-day communication and coordination
• Engineering Process: A well-defined SDLC with code reviews, manual/automated testing, and controlled releases
• Developer Tooling: We actively encourage the use of GenAI tools to improve productivity and day-to-day development workflow.

In this role you will:

• Guide technical side of projects from kickoff to launch, ensuring we deliver stable code and use the team's time wisely. 
• Own the code quality and technical stability of our projects, making sure we align with the long-term technology vision.
• Participate in client meetings when necessary, making complex tech solutions easy to understand.
  
• Partner with the Product Team and Project Manager to turn business needs into clear technical requirements that the team can build.
• Support the team through code reviews, 1:1s, mentoring and performance management to help them grow.
• Maintain clear documentation and ensuring Jira tickets are accurate and easy to follow.
• Spot technical risks or blockers early and work closely with stakeholders to find the best path forward.

You'll be a fantastic fit if you bring:

• At least 4 years in a similar lead role and a deep background in IT
  
• Expert knowledge of fintech and lending (loan lifecycles, interest logic, and regulations).
• Strong understanding of PHP, from modern Laravel and Symfony components to the logic behind self-made frameworks and legacy code.
• Expert understanding of OOP principles for writing clean, scalable code.
• Solid experience with MySQL and a Git-focused workflow.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for full-stack integration.
• Experience navigating and modernizing custom-built modular systems.
• Ability to break down complex problems and take ownership of the team's output.
• Skill in refining technical requirements into clear, actionable tasks.
• Proven mentoring experience, being able to give constructive feedback to the team.
• Highly organized and calm when juggling multiple priorities.
• Excellent English, allowing you to handle international clients and documentation.
  

You will become successful in this role if:

• In your 1st month: You get up to speed on our tech stack, codebase, and fintech workflows. Build relationships with the dev team and start participating in code reviews. Take over the documentation and Jira hygiene for at least one onboarding project.
  
• In your 2nd month: You lead technical discussions with our clients and translate their needs into dev tasks. Begin identifying and clearing technical blockers independently. Start mentoring the team through 1:1s and providing actionable feedback.
  
• By the end of the 3rd month: You fully own the technical delivery and stability of all onboarding projects. Proactively suggest and implement modernizations for our custom modular systems. Act as a trusted partner to the Product Team, ensuring all requirements are precise and ready to build.
