POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tool & Die Journeyman will plan, layout, and perform all bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain the tools, dies and fixtures throughout the facility while maintaining Lozier’s quality and safety standards. Forklift operation may also be required. The Journeyman also provides instruction to apprentices and trainees. Appropriate personal protective equipment must also be worn for this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·        Rebuild dies and fixtures.

·        Operation of a variety of hand and powered tools including, but not limited to, surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, and measuring tools is necessary for this position.

·        Constant hand usage.

·        Frequent standing and reaching.

·        Occasional walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, and elevated reaching.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A degree in tool and die technology is preferred.

Experience: Four years of previous tool & die experience is required.

Required Skills:

·        Must possess a good attendance record.

·        Good communication skills, both written and oral.

·        Ability to work independently or with a team.
