As a Temporary Ballot Tabulation Center (BTC) Adjudicator, you facilitate the election process by reviewing voters' intent, processing ballots, duplicating damaged ballots, and performing data entry.

We Require

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
  • Must be a registered Republican or Democrat voter
  • Must pass an applicable background screening
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary
  • Must have legible penmanship

  • One or more years of election experience
  • One or more years of customer service experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Contributions

  • Determines a voter’s intent on a bipartisan Duplication or Adjudication Board
  • Reviews ballots using election's proprietary software to accurately assess a voter’s intent
  • Collaborates in teams of two, each representing different political affiliations (e.g., Republican and Democrat)
  • Ensures thorough and legible documentation throughout the tabulation procedure
  • Assists other divisions within Elections or the Recorder’s Office with daily operations

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/Temporary/Holidays/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle
  • Upper extremity repetitive motion is required, as well as the ability to review small fonts on a hard copy or computer screen for an extended period of time
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • All operations will be conducted under Livestream cameras and in the presence of political observers
  • Must not engage in any political discussions
