This is a junior-level Embedded Hardware Engineering role focused on the design and development of electronic hardware systems for embedded products of Marmon Foodservice Technologies, an Industry group within Marmon Holdings.The role involves assisting in hardware design activities such as schematic development, component selection, basic PCB design support, prototype assembly, and validation testing. The trainee will gain hands-on experience in working with sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces while learning industry-standard design and debugging practices.
The role requires working closely with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to support product development, prototyping, and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring timely delivery of assigned tasks and maintaining quality standards.
Mandatory Skills:
- Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics
- Familiarity with circuit design principles and electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, etc.)
- Exposure to schematic design and basic PCB design tools (KiCad, Eagle, Altium – academic level)
- Understanding of microcontrollers and hardware interfacing basics
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, and control systems fundamentals
- Awareness of communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I2C
- Basic knowledge of testing tools (multimeter, oscilloscope – academic exposure acceptable)
- Understanding of hardware debugging and troubleshooting concepts
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and hardware prototyping
- Familiarity with IoT hardware systems is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to document designs, test results, and technical findings
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field
- Academic project or internship involving hardware design or embedded systems
- Exposure to PCB layout design and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Familiarity with hardware validation and testing practices
- Participation in hardware competitions, robotics, or IoT projects
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to embedded hardware systems (microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, power circuits)
- Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit design
- Awareness of hardware cost optimization or component selection trade-offs
- Familiarity with PLM tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent) is a plus
- Knowledge of basic reliability tools such as FMEA / DFMEA
- Understanding of PCB design and manufacturing considerations
- Exposure to testing and validation of electronic circuits
- Familiarity with IoT hardware platforms and connectivity modules
- Awareness of industry standards and compliance (EMI/EMC basics preferred)
