Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides respiratory care to all patients in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry areas, Labor and Delivery and the Nursery. Maintains accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides respiratory care according to Marshall's standards of practice.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from The American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics or the American Heart Association required.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from The American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
Knowledge:
All aspects of respiratory care including emergency room and intensive care settings as well as labor and delivery and neonatal care.
Knowledge of human growth and development to modify care to age and development status.
Skills:
Skilled in all aspects of respiratory care.
Basic computer skills required.
Must be able to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to multi-task, work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Must be able to deal with stressful and emotional situations involving severely ill patients and their families.
